MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Logan Broussard of the University of Mobile Men's Bowling program was named SSAC Men's Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday, Jan. 17. The award is based on performance for the week of Jan. 8-14.
In Mobile's return to play last weekend, first-year Ram Logan Broussard helped guide the Rams to the team's first-ever tournament victory as Mobile won day one of the Throw Down in T-Town on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Broussard won the individual title on Saturday, being the only competitor to eclipse 1,000 pins across five games bowled. The following day, Mobile added the second win in program history, with the Rams winning day two of the Throw Down in T-Town and Broussard coming home 11th overall.
Broussard becomes the first Ram in history to win a SSAC Bowler of the Week Award.
Logan Broussard (Mobile – FR – Livingston, La.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor.
- Broussard averaged 208.2 pins per game for the individual title on Saturday, totaling 1,041 pins.
- He scored a 239 for his best game on day one of the Throw Down in T-Town.
- On Sunday, Broussard scored a 530 to finish 11th, averaging 176.6 pins across the three games bowled.
- He finished the weekend with 1,571 total pins in eight games.
- Mobile knocked off the University of Alabama, Blue Mountain (Miss.), and host-school Stillman (Ala.) in both tournaments.
