Women's Basketball Improves to 3-1 Following Road Win Over Fisk on Saturday

Rams Play Spoiler at Fisk Homecoming

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team secured a close road win over Fisk University (Tenn.) on Saturday, Nov. 9, defeating the Bulldogs in central Tennessee, 62-59. Mobile overcame Fisk's home-court advantage during homecoming weekend for the Bulldogs, surviving a last-heave three-point shot at the buzzer to collect the victory.

Following the win, Mobile improves to 3-1 on the season with a conference home game scheduled for this upcoming week.

Game Summary

Fisk began Saturday's game with a strong start, outscoring Mobile 20-14 in the first quarter. Mobile fought back in the second quarter, however, narrowing the gap by outscoring Fisk 12-9 to trail 29-26 at halftime The third quarter eventually was the difference maker in the overall result as Mobile surged ahead with a dominant 22-13 performance, taking a 48-42 lead entering the final 10 minutes. Fisk attempted a comeback, outscoring Mobile 17-14 in the fourth, but Mobile held on for the win following a missed three at the buzzer.

The Rams saw standout performances from several players on Saturday, with Braylee McMath leading the scoring with 15 points. McMath's scoring included three three-pointers, while contributing defensively with six steals to disrupt Fisk's offense. Alanna Donaldson followed closely, adding 13 points, with four successful free throws attempts. MacKenzie White also made a key impact with 11 points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Miriam Oldarcre chipped in nine points and five boards.

Mobile's defense was strong, forcing 21 turnovers and capitalizing on Fisk's mistakes by scoring 29 points off giveaways. Although Fisk out-rebounded Mobile with 54 boards to 33, Mobile's fast-paced transition game and scoring off second-chance points helped maintain the lead.

SSAC Action Against Defending Champs

Mobile is scheduled to return home to Pharr Gymnasium to begin conference play on Thursday, Nov. 14, with the Rams hosting defending SSAC Champions Loyola University (La.) at 5:30 p.m. CT.
