MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2024 Barnes & Noble College Competitive Cheer Scholar-Athlete Team on Monday, May 6, with Alyssa Cherry from the University of Mobile Competitive Cheer program earning recognition.
Alyssa Cherry was named as a Barnes & Noble College Scholar-Athlete selection for the first time in her collegiate career on Monday, with the 2023-24 season being her last as a Ram. Cherry managed a 3.51 GPA in the classroom as a secondary education major, while minoring in social sciences. She competed in all six competitions throughout the season, with Mobile averaging a team score of 72.68.

- To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions.
- Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school.
