Competitive Cheer has Strong Showing at SSAC Round-Up

Rams Look Towards Conference Championship after a Pair of Second Place Finishes

PRICEVILLE EVENT CENTER | DECATUR, Ala. - The University of Mobile Competitive Cheer team took to the floor today in Decatur, Alabama for the SSAC Round-Up ahead of tomorrow's SSAC Competitive Cheer Championship. The Rams put on a very strong showing in both rounds, securing two second place finishes, behind Florida Memorial University. A total of eight teams competed in the SSAC Round-Up, with there being just seven to compete in the first round.

The Rams were at their best to start the SSAC Round-Up, securing an 89.70 to set a new high score for the season and the best under the leadership of Michael Lee. This score for Mobile would also mark an important accomplishment for the team as they would 'hit zero', meaning no deductions were given by the judges towards the team's score. Mobile would only be bested by Florida Memorial who scored a 90.71 to secure first place in round one over the Rams. Life University would finish in third with an 83.20 to round out the top three teams.

Round two would play out much the same as the first with the exception of Loyola University (La.) joining the competition. Mobile would record an 87.88 to secure second place once again, with Florida Memorial scoring a 92.43 to win the second round as well. Life would finish third again with an 84.23, followed closely by Loyola (La.) with an 80.43.

Mobile is back in action tomorrow, March 8th, as they compete in the 2025 SSAC Competitive Cheer Championship in Decatur, Ala. The event will be streamed live at https://ssacsports.tv
