H. AUSTILL PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Competitive Cheer team, led by second-year head coach Michael Lee, opened the 2025 season by hosting a pair of competitions in Pharr Gymnasium on Thursday morning, Feb. 13, securing two first-place finishes in the process at the 2025 RAM Showdown. Three total teams competed on Thursday, with the first competition of the day seeing just two teams compete.
Mobile's strong start to begin the campaign came against SSAC rival William Carey (Miss.), kicking things off with a solid score of 83.63. The opening performance was Mobile's best score under head coach Michael Lee, with the Rams eventually defeating the Crusaders handedly. William Carey managed just a 66.55 in the first-ever competition for the program out of Hattiesburg, Miss.
Later on Thursday, Mobile and William Carey met again, this time joined by SSAC foe Loyola University (La.). Loyola opened the second competition of the day with a solid 79.26, followed by a 68.13 by the Crusaders of William Carey. For Mobile, the Rams bested their previous performance earlier in the day and recorded a new program-high 87.18 to win the competition and end the day with two solid victories over conference opponents.

Mobile's next competition is set for Friday, Mar. 7 in Decatur, Ala., coming against more SSAC opponents at the SSAC Round-Up. The SSAC Round-Up comes just one day before the 2025 SSAC Competitive Cheer Championship in Decatur.
